MASTER ROBERT SUMMERS

Master Robert Summers was born in Tonawanda, NY, September 12, 1958.

Master Summers started his Martial Arts career training Tae Kwon-Do in 1973.

He began working part time teaching the art he was falling in love with.

He was invited to work full time teaching for Master J.S. Park in Toronto,

Canada, which he did from 1979-1985.

Master Summers moved from Toronto to Buffalo, NY

so he could open his own schools. In 1987, he had the pleasure

to travel to Portugal and North Africa to share his art by teaching

and demonstrating there. His schools in Buffalo grew quickly from 1986 - 1990

when he again moved. This time to Charlotte, North Carolina.

Master Summers now franchises or consults for a total of 12 schools,

with over 600 Black Belts under his guidance.

As Master Summers mentions, the highlight of his career so far was on March 3rd, 1991

when he had the pleasure to test for one of his Degrees

in the presence of Sosho Durant (10th Dan) and Hanshi Cavalier (9th Dan).

Because winning tournaments only takes but a couple of good techniques,

he considers it a higher achievement to be tested on all levels

and on all techniques not just by other Black Belts,

but by true Masters of their prospective arts.
